"Dr. Greg" Mlynarczyk
In early November we were given news of the sudden passing away of our col-md-6league and friend Dr. Greg Mlynarczyk. We are all deeply saddened by this news.
At this time our hope is to provide as much comfort and privacy as possible for Dr. Greg's family and friends, as well as for our office family. Dr. Greg’s sense of humor, kindness, and humanity will be greatly missed, but we will honor his memory by carrying on his tradition of excellence.
If you would like to share a memory of Dr. Greg, please send it to firstname.lastname@example.org
With our deepest caring and respect,
Drs. Laura Ellefson and Kasia Marelich
Originally from Las Vegas, I left the desert, receiving a great undergraduate education at the University of Oregon with a major in biology, and a particular interest in research. At the University of Southern California School of Dentistry from which I graduated, Gordon Christensen, Rex Ingraham and other faculty of international excellence were great inspiration to always continue to learn. USC continues its leadership role in community oral health care and excellent clinical skills.
My professional associations are with:
- American Dental Association
- California Dental Association
- Redwood Dental Society
Currently I am a member of the Professional Advisory Board of the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance and have participated in research and clinical consensus conferences throughout the country. Locally I served on the board of Becoming Independent, as well as the North Bay Regional Center for Developmental Disabilities, for several years each.
It was an honor to be a member of the Redwood Empire Dental Society Peer Review Board for years, to exhibit by request at the ADA national convention, and at the New York Academy of Sciences. Our research resulted in a presentation at the American Society of Human Genetics national convention, and publication in the Journal of Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology and Oral Surgery. The research and findings we discovered have been verified by other researchers, and referenced in numerous professional journals and publications, including the AMA journal, on medical board exams, and in medical textbooks.
My free time includes scuba diving, cross-country skiing, traveling with family or to visit family, body-surfing and being a loyal fan of Oregon Duck & USC Trojan football, and of course, the San Francisco Giants & Golden State Warriors! I have been a member of the Sonoma County Trailblazers since 1989, enjoying the camaraderie of this group on the trail ride or at the hog feed. My wife, Laura, and I are members of Wild Oak Saddle Club and Fountaingrove Athletic Club. This community has been so good to us, and we care very much about our friends and our patients.
Music of just about every kind is central to our family life & in the office. The Green Music Center at Sonoma State University has been a focus of our support for a number of years. Truly an acoustical gift to our community. We are very appreciative of spectacular vocalists, musicians & guest artists, as well as the Santa Rosa & San Francisco Symphony, performing at this fabulous venue inside, and outside on the lawn. We also enjoy many kinds of music at Funky Fridays, Summer Nights on the Green & at Barlow Street Fair in the summer. Transcendence Theatre Company takes us to Broadway at Jack London Park & at Luther Burbank Center. So fortunate to live in such a mecca of music!
In recent years, at least three of our patients who had been seen in our office for years, are now dentists or prosthodontists. It is a treat to nurture a passion for dentistry & patient care with our patients, our team, and our associates. The sharing of knowledge is really inspiring!
